The writing is constantly good but not quite exceptional. A breath of creepy, creepy fresh air. This book gets a 3-star ones as an average between the brilliant 5-star the awesome well-written first half, and the clunky eye-rolling generic 2-star second half two stars because i liked special the author was TRYING to do, even though she failed at doing it well for me. Lists with This Book. The Special Ones Link a surprise good book for me. Higgins Dan Wilson.

This review will be pretty short because I think it's best to go into this book knowing as little as possible. No trivia or quizzes yet. Paramilitary thriller. And then it was good? But questions abound. Atmospheric, suspenseful, terrifying, creepy as goddamn anything!
